Terms of Use
These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and Notium. By creating an account or using our services you accept these terms. They are written in a straightforward way and do not replace legal advice.
1. Overview
Notium is an AI assisted writing and research tool for students. We help you brainstorm, structure, rewrite, and scan your own work. We do not submit assignments to schools, learning platforms, or teachers on your behalf.
You must be able to enter into a binding agreement under the laws of your country in order to use Notium. If you are under the age of majority you should only use Notium with permission from a parent, guardian, or school.
2. Using Notium
You may use Notium only for lawful purposes and only as described in these terms. You agree that:
- You are responsible for all activity that happens under your account.
- You will keep your login credentials secret and will notify us if you suspect unauthorised access.
- You will not try to reverse engineer, interfere with, or abuse the service or our models.
- You will not use Notium to generate content that is illegal, hateful, or meant to harass or harm others.
You remain the author of any work you choose to submit in school or elsewhere, even when that work is drafted with the help of Notium.
3. Academic integrity and your responsibilities
Notium is built to help you learn and to improve your own writing. Many schools and universities have rules about the use of AI tools and about what counts as original work. You are responsible for understanding and following those rules.
We do not encourage academic dishonesty or misrepresentation. You should not use Notium to submit work as if it were entirely your own when your institution forbids that use of AI. If you choose to do so, that decision is your own and you accept the risk that your work may be reviewed, flagged, or disciplined by your institution.
4. AI detection tools and limitations
Notium offers scanning features that estimate how your writing might be treated by AI detection systems. These scans are based on models, thresholds, and signals that can change over time and that we do not fully control.
We work to keep your voice natural and to avoid obvious AI patterns, but we cannot guarantee that any essay or document created with Notium will avoid detection, review, or penalties. Educators, schools, plagiarism tools, and AI detectors may change their methods without warning.
By using Notium you agree that:
- You are solely responsible for how you use our suggestions and whether you submit work created with Notium.
- Notium is not liable if an assignment is flagged by AI detection tools, plagiarism services, teachers, or institutions.
- No feature in Notium should be treated as a guarantee that your work is undetectable or will never be questioned.
5. Billing, subscriptions, and cancellation
Some parts of Notium are free and others require a paid subscription. When you start a paid plan you authorise us or our payment processor to charge the subscription price on a recurring basis until you cancel.
You can cancel at any time in your account or billing settings. Unless we state otherwise, cancellation stops future renewals but does not automatically refund past charges. We may change prices in the future and will try to give notice before changes apply to your plan.
6. Disclaimers
Notium is provided as a tool to assist with writing and research. We try to keep the service accurate, reliable, and available, but we do not promise that it will always be error free or uninterrupted. AI generated suggestions can be wrong, incomplete, or outdated.
You should review and edit all content before using it in important settings, and you should not rely on Notium as your only source of facts, citations, or legal or educational advice.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Notium and its team are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of your use of the service. That includes things like lost grades, disciplinary actions, missed deadlines, or loss of data.
If we are found to have some responsibility in connection with your use of Notium, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.
8. Changes and contact
We may update these Terms of Use as we add features or as laws change. When changes are significant we will update the effective date and, when reasonable, let you know in the app or by email.
If you have questions about these terms, contact us at [email protected].
